The DROMAS association, in partnership with Les Dromadaires de Picardie, sets up camel mediation actions aimed at young people in difficulty, people with disabilities and groups far removed from social inclusion.

With this program, DROMAS aims to make dromedaries a vector of social connection and cultural transmission, while bringing a new perspective to animal mediation in France.

A new start in Thenailles in 2025
With its move to the Abbey of Thenailles in the Aisne department in Hauts-de-France in March 2025, DROMAS is reaching an important milestone in its development. This exceptional site, at the crossroads of history and heritage, provides an ideal setting to strengthen its animal mediation and social integration initiatives. Close to the Dromedaries of Picardy, this new territorial anchorage will allow it to offer more immersive activities tailored to the needs of the audiences it supports.
Innovative support by dromedaries. With their calm temperament and imposing presence, dromedaries are excellent mediators for working on self-esteem, emotional management, and communication. For several years, DROMAS has collaborated with specialized institutes and support structures to offer dromathology sessions adapted to these audiences.
A project around the History and Legends of Thiérache
As part of its outreach efforts, DROMAS is launching a unique project combining animal-assisted therapy and local heritage. Based at Thenailles Abbey, participants will be able to participate in fun and educational workshops on the region's history and legends, all related to dromedaries. Physical and verbal exercises will be emphasized to foster self-expression and self-confidence.
Concrete impacts on well-being and social integration
The objectives of these actions are multiple:
✅ Promote the autonomy and responsibility of participants
✅ Create social bonds by involving different audiences
✅ Use heritage and animals as therapeutic and educational tools
✅ Encourage professional reintegration through collective projects
